SOME BACKGROUND ON THE SCHAFFLER FAMILY
Pete has felt a call to be involved in overseas mission ever since high school. He studied environmental science, went on a short-term mission to Bangladesh and completed a two year diploma at Sydney Missionary and Bible College.
Pete married Kara believing she would manage well living in a mud hut in the third world.
Kara was born in Papua New Guinea while her parents were serving there as missionaries. Kara studied nutrition with the belief that one day somehow God would have her serving on the mission field. So she did not bat an eyelid when Pete asked her to marry him and live in a mud hut.
In 2004 Kara and Pete did a one-month trip to Madagascar and saw great opportunities to serve these people.
